HeadShy is a rock band now based in the UK featuring singer songwriter, keyboard player Lisa Lipkin and drummer Clive Deamer (Portishead & Radiohead). Headshy is currently working on their new album as a duo.

The band was originally formed in Austin Texas in 2012. The previous incarnation of the band released a triple EP La Belle Epoque. It featured singer songwriter, keyboard player Lisa Lipkin, Reese Beeman (7% Solution) - vocals, guitars and bass, James Adkisson (7% Solution) - guitars, Wayne Duncan – Drums, Mike Sherrill - Backing Vocals Julian Capps - Electric Guitar, Ikey Owens (Mars Volta)- Organ and David Malerba - guitar

Through deep imagery and metaphor, HeadShy have produced a debut that, while very long at 69 minutes, manages to unite completely different songwriting directions under one roof. Each section is drastically different from the others, but through expert craftsmanship they are brought together into something as tasty as peanut butter and jelly.

The track is beautifully subdued with the vocals providing menacing appeal.”

On the dreamy, spacey “The Light That Guides the Blind”, HeadShy shows a knack for finding something soulful in the midst of a vast soundscape.

Now this is a concept LP. An album made up of three HeadShy EPs, The Head, Heart, and Base Chords, they combine across velvet stained lounges in a darkwave americana for the soul, while gothic jazz floats across waves of minimalistic trip-hopped grooves before falling into oceans of melancholic depth. Touches of Portishead sadness filter through 4AD-ish haunting neo-psychedelic pop, like what might happen if R.E.M. joined with The Devics to cover songs by Nick Cave and Nina Simone. Lisa Lipkin’s vocals feel timeless in their beauty, like you’re lying on a bed of sorrow with murder ballad pillows, waiting for love to give you that sly little wink before it vanishes into the moonlight
